In an effort to help you market your skills, TVJobs.com has created the E-Résumé Database.  This searchable database provides a way to get your résumé out in front of those who do the hiring.  To that end, we have created a large number of features designed to help employers zero in on exactly the job skills they are looking for; which of course, benefits you.

Before you begin, you must decide which type of E-Résumé best fits your needs.  Currently, we have three types of E-Résumés ...

• "Free" 3-Month E-Résumé
• "Subscription" 1-Year Standard E-Résumé
• "Subscription" 1-Year Enhanced E-Résumé

Please read through the accompanying information to better understand what each offers.

"Free" 3-Month E-Résumé
The "Free" 3-Month E-Résumé includes:

• Name
• Address
• City
• State
• Phone
• E-Mail
• Objective
• Experience - Allows you to enter up to 3 different places of employment.
• Education
• Notations for - References Available Upon Request.
• Categories - Allows your E-Résumé to be found in three areas of your choosing
• Experience - Allows you to enter your experience corresponding to each of the above categories.
• Update Résumé - User supplied Usernames and Passwords allow you to update your Résumé at any time.

• NOTE:  "Free" E-Résumés cannot be submitted for positions listed in our Job Bank.

"Subscription" 1-Year Standard E-Résumé
The "Subscription" 1-Year Standard E-Résumé includes:

• Name
• Address
• City
• State
• Phone
• E-Mail
• Objective
• Experience - Allows you to enter up to 5 different places of emploment.
• Education
• Notations for - References Available Upon Request.
• Notations for - Tape Available Upon Request
• Notations for - Full Résumé Available Upon Request
• Notations for - Willing to Relocate
• Categories - Allows your E-Résumé to be found in 5 areas of your choosing
• Experience - Allow you to enter your experience corresponding to each of the above categories.
• Update Résumé - User supplied Usernames and Passwords allow you to update your Résumé at any time.
• Résumé Link - Provides to ability for you to link to your full résumé elsewhere on the net.
• Picture Link - Allows you to include a picture that appears at the top of your E-Résumé

Additional and more significant features of the "Subscription" 1 year service includes..

• Hit Counter - Know how many times your E-Résumé has been viewed.
• Hit Origination - Know what market those viewing your E-Résumé are in.
  • Note: Market information is provided when "registered employers" view your E-Résumé. All other "hits" are logged as "guests". No market information is available for "guests" viewing your E-Résumé.
• E-Mail Notification - Receive an e-mail message each time your E-Résumé is viewed.
• Exclude "Registered Employers" in specific markets from viewing your E-Résumé.
• Exclude "Registered Employers" at specific stations from viewing your E-Résumé.
• Exclude "Guests" from viewing your E-Résumé.
• Forward your E-Résumé Directly to Employers
  • Forward your E-Résumé directly to employers who post jobs in our job database and accept electronic resumes.
  • Forward your E-Résumé directly to anyone with an e-mail address.

"Subscription" 1-Year Enhanced E-Résumé
The "Subscription" 1-Year Enhanced E-Résumé includes everything the Standard Subscription E-Resume has, plus:

• Agent Information
• Award Information
• College Information
• Newscast Information
• News Philosophy
• Personal Bio
• Quotes
• References
• Special Reports / Series Pieces
• Writing Samples

• Custom Photos (Thumbnail, Standard, Large)
• Upload your own resume (DOC/PDF/RTF - 1 of each for a total of 3)

Additionally, you can purchase the following optional enhancements:

• Customized audio greeting
• Voiceovers (maximum of 5)
• Streaming Videos (maximum of 5)
• PDF Resume - you send us your electronic resume, we will convert it to PDF format for you!

Please keep your e-mail address current!

* In an effort to keep the database free of dormant or outdated résumés, including résumés with invalid e-mail addresses, we periodically send out administrative messages to test the validity of displayed e-mail addresses.  If our admin messages are returned undelivered (bounced), resumes are placed on "hold" until a valid e-mail address is provided.  Under no circumstances is your personal information ever shared ... ever! [ Privacy Policy ]

By posting your résumé in the E-Résumé database, you agree to accept these occasional administrative messages.  If at anytime you decide you do not want to receive these messages any longer, simply login and delete your E-Résumé from the database.

IMPORTANT!

• Signing up for a Free or Subscription E-Résumé does not provide access to any other subscription areas of the TVJobs.com website, such as our Job Bank, Instant Job Notification service and the Salary Database.

• Having a Free Subscription in the E-Résumé Database does not provide the ability to forward your E-Résumé to employers who allow for electronic submission of resumes in our Job Center.

• Free E-Resume service provided for "New Accounts" only.

Attention College Students!

When you go through the signup process, you will eventually come across an area where you will choose what categories you want your E-Résumé to appear in.  You will also be asked to note how much experience you have in each of the selected categories.  We have noticed a tendency for students to list their college TV or Radio / Intern experience in this area.  While we do not make light of your valuable college experience, employers are usually looking for the amount of paid/professional experience in each of these categories including no experience.

For example, if you trained in a college radio station as a reporter during your college career, and then listed your experience as a Reporter in our E-Résumé Database as 4 years, employers would quickly realize that you don't have 4 years of professional experience and would pass your E-Résumé by.  At the same time, an employer in a smaller market may be looking for someone with no experience to train and consequently your E-Résumé would not be considered because you have it listed as having 4 years experience and the employer missed the fact that all your experience was in a college setting.

The best thing to do in this situation is to list your experience as zero.
That way if someone is looking for someone to train, you'll be considered.
